The Eagle Has Landed!
There's been a lot of changes at The Eagle since this picture was taken in the 1930's, the most recent being it's return to a Free House.
Aaron bought the freehold in 2013 and has made lots of changes and improvements.
One of these has been to open up the pub's enclosed rear brick-weave courtyard so that is can be easily accessed from the games bar via a new set of doors.
Plus the kitchen offers a midweek lunchtime menu and the full bar menu Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, check out our FOOD page for more details...
The Stamp of Approval!
Since Aaron started running The Eagle in 2009 we have all known that the real ales have been well looked after, now we have independent confirmation of this from Cask Marque.
To gain the Cask Marque 'Certificate of Excellence' Aaron has regular unannounced visits from an independent assessor who checks that all the cask ales on sale for temperature, appearance, aroma and taste.
The Eagle regularly gets the top score, well done Aaron, keep up the good work!
Top Hygiene Rating!
The Eagle has the top rating of ‘5 stars’ by the councils inspectors. The inspectors judgement is based on how hygienic and well managed the food preparation at The Eagle is and Aaron is delighted that his efforts have been rewarded with the 5 star rating.
CAMRA LocAle is an accreditation scheme to recognise pubs that sell locally-brewed real ales and whose beers have fewer ‘beer miles’.
The Eagle has been awarded accreditation, so check out our Drinks page to see what we offer!
Good Beer Guide 2020 - We're in it again!
CAMRA's Good Beer Guide lists 4,500 of the best real ale pubs in the UK and we are really chuffed to be amongst the 105 pubs selected from well over 700 pubs across Norfolk!
The Eagle was included for the 1st time in the 2016 edition and Aaron is delighted that The Eagle has been recognised for the 5th consecutive year for the quality of its real ales by CAMRA members, “We try to offer our customers an excellent range of real ales, including those from local brewers. We work hard to ensure that the real ales on offer are kept in first-class condition and the pubs's inclusion for a fifth consecutive year highlights this.”
